Biography

Peggy Rains launched her career in 1998 after being heard by a man who has a good ear and eye for country talent. Ray Bingham, along with Red Steagall, had earlier recognized the potential of another Oklahoma redhead named Reba McEntire. When Bingham heard Peggy Rains, smooth-as-honey alto, he was impressed and encouraged her to pursue larger opportunities. Soon after that meeting Peggy went to the studio and released her first album "It's A Good Day". Success came to Peggy like a whirlwind, placing her on all types of stages from the Las Vegas Casinos to the legendary Ryman Theater she has happily met each chall “It’s A Good Day” met with great success both locally and internationally. The reviews have all been excellent throughout the United States and Europe. During the promotion of this new release audiences have found that the energy and excitement found in the recording is also brought to the stage by these two fine performers making Frizzell and Rains a winning combination The excitement continues with the release of Peggy’s new CD “Swing Time” again produced by Joe Bob Barnhill and includes “A Woman’s Place” a new Cindy Walker tune.
